iKapa

"iKapa" is Xhosa for "Cape Town".

Fun facts about Xhosa:

• Xhosa is one of the 11 official languages of South Africa.
• Xhosa is Nelson Mandela's native language.
• Xhosa is known as "the clicking language" (watch this video to find out why!)

Xhosa is sometimes considered difficult to learn because it's a tonal language - different words might look the same on paper but mean different things depending on how you pronounce them.

I'm taking Introductory Xhosa as one of my classes this semester! Hopefully some things I picked up in my Linguistics class this past semester will come in handy.
